History

The Sea Rangers Association has a rich history and our crew SRS Barnehurst also have their own story. With the likes of Queen Elizabeth enjoying her Sea Ranger past, many girls been part of a crew and gained amazing skills and experience aboard a vessel.

There are lots of ways to get involved as a Sea Ranger. Girls age 8 to 13 are 'Cadet Sea Rangers' and 'Sea Rangers' are 14-21.

We meet weekly on Friday evenings 7-8.30pm at Fairlop Waters Outdoor Activity Centre.

Welcome to SRS Barnehurst

Members of Sea Rangers take part in a variety of exciting activities at their regular meetings, and at special events or holidays. Between the ages of 9 and 13 girls are 'Cadet Sea Rangers', and from 13 to 21 are 'Sea Rangers'. There are also opportunities to become Adult Officers and Helpers.

Girls learn how to be safe on the water and skills needed to go boating in the summer months, the girls get involved with community action projects and non-nautical activities such as swimming, camping, climbing, team-building, orienteering and competitions. Members are also able to take part and gain national governing body qualifications or awards; Royal Yachting Association, British Canoe Union, First Aid and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
